Following Barcelona’s success in the Champion’s League final last
week, Ronaldinho’s profile is as high as it has ever
been. With the World Cup just around the corner, Universal Music
Brazil is proud
to announce the release of "SAMBA GOAL - POWERED BY R10". Featuring 14
tracks hand-picked by none other than the two time FIFA World Player
Of The Year, Brazilian and FC Barcelona midfielder Ronaldinho Gaúcho.
 The set
features 14 of the Brazilian hero’s favourite Samba tunes, including
the brand new track "Goleador" (Superscorer) by Ronaldinho (on
percussion) with his group Samba Tri. Two songs, that became anthems
of the conquest of
Brazil’s fifth
world championship in 2002 that took place in
Japan and
Korea, also
feature: "Sorte Grande" with Ivete Sangalo and "Deixa a Vida me Levar"
with Zeca Pagodinho.
In
addition to these hits, SAMBA GOAL also includes Gilberto Gil’s "Chiclete
com Banana"; Caetano Veloso “Meia lua inteira”; the classic Tamba Trio
version of the Sergio Mendes hit "Mas que nada" which was itself
composed by Jorge Ben Jor who appears this set on "Taj Mahal"; and the
Brazilian supporters’ most chanted samba in the football stadiums all
over the world, "Peguei um Ita no Norte" which was recorded by the
drummers of the Salgueiro, a traditional Samba School in Rio de
Janeiro.
With
the world’s greatest football competition commencing in
Germany on June
